“I consider myself a poet first and a instrumentalist sec I live like a poet and complaint dice like a poet.”

A Nice piece below from GVMota who says ….

Here’s a shot of shilling Dylan’s interview with journalist Henry Martyn Henry M. Robert Shelton, of the British people music newspaper “Melody Maker”, the July 29th, 1978 edition.

It´s a rather rare written document - just consider that Henry Martyn Robert Shelton died in 1995 and “Melody Maker” hasn’t existed since 2000.

Well, I bought the paper in Greater London at that time and kept the pages with the master interview, which have since yellowed with the pass of the years.

Some classic Dylanesque nugget in here! Below are some highlights:

“It´s not ME It´s the songs. I´m just the postman. I deliver the songs. That´s all I have in this world are those songs! That´s what all the legend, all the myth, is about - my songs.”

“Nobody else give my vocal life It´s up to me to do IT But those vocal have a life of their own. Jimi Hendrix sang them… Stevie Wonder, new wave Morrison and dot Presley have Sung them.”

“For every dollar I make there´s a pool of sweat on the floor.”

“The intent of art is to inspire.”

“I consider myself a poet first and a instrumentalist sec I live like a poet and I´ll die like a poet.”

“All you really have to please is yourself. in any area of life.”

“You can´t depend on an audience to tell you that you´re good You have to know yourself. If you know it, they´ll know it!”

“It is true that a man is his own worst enemy, just as he is his own best friend If you deal with the enemy within, then no enemy without can pedestal a chance.”
